About the game

A browser adaptation by Zarocer.

Play Spades as South with a computer partner in North against computer opponents in East and West. Each hand has thirteen tricks. Bid how many you expect to win, then follow the led suit whenever you can. In the classic game, the leading team wins after reaching at least 500 points.

Controls

Click or tap a highlighted card to play it. Use arrow keys and Enter or Space to pick a card; H gives a hint and Escape pauses.

Bid for the partnership, then watch the contract

South and North share a team score. For a combined non-Nil bid of seven, taking seven tricks meets the contract for seventy points; taking eight adds one point and one bag. Missing the contract loses ten points for each bid trick.

Extra tricks are not a free long-term bonus. Ten accumulated bags subtract one hundred points. Your partner may already be winning a trick, so compare that winning card with the team’s remaining need before spending a high spade.

Nil changes your objective

A bid of zero is Nil: try to take no tricks. Successful Nil adds one hundred points and taking any trick loses one hundred. That differs from a low ordinary bid, where winning the promised tricks is the objective.

Follow the led suit whenever you have it; the native interface enables legal cards. Check the card already winning the trick and the remaining cards in your hand before selecting a discard. The classic match targets at least five hundred points, while the native Daily mode scores its own single hand.

How to play

Choose a bid from 0 to 13 before the hand. A zero bid is Nil: try not to take any tricks. On your turn, select an available card. Follow the led suit if you can; a spade beats cards of other suits. Finish thirteen tricks to score the hand.
