Compare the measured objective, not just the clock

A time trial needs a clear finish condition. Here that can be completing laps through gates or reaching a motorcycle course flag. Native practice and race modes differ.

Laps must still follow the course

Drift Time Trial uses two laps through numbered gates before its limit. Kart Racing’s Time trial removes rivals but still requires three laps. Leaving the asphalt slows the vehicle; controlled corner exits can be more useful than holding full throttle through every bend.

A fast landing is useful only when it is safe

Motorbike Trials combines time with balance. Lean to line up the bike with the ground and reach the flag before pursuing a better star target. A failed landing ends the attempt instead of merely adding a time penalty.
