Xiangqi

Xiangqi brings Chinese chess to a browser board of ninety intersections. Horses have blockable legs, elephants stay on their own side of the river, and cannons capture across exactly one screen. Choose three computer difficulties or share the device with another player. Native move suggestions, public notation and undo help you understand a position; local continuation keeps an unfinished match after reload. Checkmate and having no legal move both lose. Repetition is adjudicated rather than automatically turning every repeated attack into a draw.

Controls

Click or tap a piece and a highlighted destination. Arrow keys move the cursor; Enter selects and Tab visits controls. N starts over, Z undoes, H suggests and Escape closes dialogs.

How to play

Red moves first. Select a piece, then a highlighted intersection. Keep your general safe and never leave the two generals facing along an open file. Suggestion marks a candidate move. Undo takes back one local move or a completed pair against the computer. Starting over confirms replacement of an active match.
